Eversource NH

Approximately 425 members of IBEW Local 1837 are employed by Eversource Energy in New Hampshire at the former Public Service Company of New Hampshire (PSNH). As the largest electric utility in the state, Eversource NH provides electricity to more than 475,000 homes and businesses across New Hampshire, playing a critical role in keeping communities powered year-round.

Eversource was formed in 2012 through the merger of Northeast Utilities, a Connecticut-based utility holding company, and NSTAR, a Massachusetts-based energy company, creating one of the largest energy delivery systems in the Northeast. Eversource NH continues the long-standing legacy of PSNH in delivering reliable electric service throughout the state.

IBEW Local 1837 members work at Eversource NH in a wide range of essential roles, including line workers, meter readers, clerical staff, warehouse personnel, construction mechanics, and system and field electricians, among others. Whether restoring power after major storms, maintaining infrastructure, supporting logistics operations, or assisting customers, our members help ensure safe, dependable electric service for hundreds of thousands of Granite Staters.

Members at Eversource NH are organized into Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 based on their work location. Through collective bargaining, IBEW Local 1837 works to negotiate and enforce strong contracts that protect wages, benefits, working conditions, and staffing levels, supporting both member well-being and the reliable delivery of electric service across New Hampshire.
