IBEW Local 1837 represents 22 members employed by Lewis Tree Service in New Hampshire. This skilled bargaining unit includes foremen, grounds men, and tree trimmers who perform essential vegetation management work along distribution lines owned by Eversource Energy.

These members play a critical role in maintaining safe and reliable electric service by clearing and managing vegetation around power lines, helping prevent outages and ensuring safe access for line crews. Their work directly supports the reliability of the electric grid and the safety of both utility workers and the public.

The unit voted to join IBEW Local 1837 in January 2023 and successfully ratified their first union contract later that year, an important milestone that secured negotiated wages, benefits, and workplace protections.

Founded in 1938, Lewis Tree Service has grown to become one of North America’s largest vegetation management companies, providing services to utilities across the continent. Through collective bargaining IBEW Local 1837 continues to advocate for strong contracts and safe working conditions for members in the essential field.
