In April 2026, staff on Chris Pappas’ campaign for U.S. Senate voted to join IBEW Local 1837 and ratified their first collective bargaining agreement, becoming part of a growing movement of political campaign workers organizing for a voice on the job.

The agreement established standards for wages, employer-paid healthcare, paid time off, workplace protections, and a structured process for resolving workplace concerns. Through collective bargaining, campaign staff secured important protections while continuing their work to elect candidates who support working families.

The Pappas campaign staff joined a growing number of political and campaign workers represented by IBEW Local 1837, further expanding the local’s commitment to representing workers in utility, broadcasting, political, and campaign workplaces throughout New England.
