IBEW Local 1837 maintains a relationship with American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL), a unionized insurance provider that offers insurance benefits to union members and their families.
Through this program, Local 1837 members receive no-cost Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage. This coverage is provided automatically to members at no cost and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Members may receive correspondence from American Income Life regarding these benefits, including information about designating a beneficiary and obtaining a certificate of coverage. Members who respond to these communications may be contacted by an AIL representative to arrange delivery of their benefit information.
American Income Life also offers additional supplemental insurance products that members may choose to purchase.
Important information for members:
- The group AD&D benefit is provided at no cost to eligible Local 1837 members.
- Members do not need to return a response card or meet with an AIL representative to receive the no-cost coverage.
- Additional insurance products are entirely optional and are not required to receive the no-cost benefit.
- AIL representatives are employees or representatives of American Income Life, not IBEW Local 1837.
