Business Management & Representation

The Business Manager is elected by the membership and oversees daily operations of IBEW Local 1837. Working alongside the Assistant Business Manager, they:

Lead contract negotiations at represented companies
Handle higher-level grievances
Advise and support shop stewards
Ensure contracts are enforced

The Office Manager maintains financial records and provides clerical support to staff and the Executive Board, helping ensure efficient and accurate operations.

Our full-time Business Representative assists our union by:

Supporting negotiations and member needs
Coordinating educational programs
Managing online and print communications
Assisting with union initiatives
Helping organize workers who wish to join

Unit Meetings & Member Participation

Eleven unit meetings are held throughout New Hampshire and Maine nearly every month. These meetings are presided over by elected unit leaders, typically attended by a Business Manager or Union Staff, and are open to all members.

Members vote for officers within their own units and are welcome to attend any unit meeting. This structure keeps leadership accessible and ensures members stay informed and engaged. Through strong leadership, transparent governance, and active member participation, IBEW Local 1837 remains committed to protecting workers’ rights and strengthening our union across the region.
