IBEW Local 1837 unit meetings are resuming for the fall, giving members across Maine and New Hampshire an opportunity to stay informed, raise workplace concerns and connect with fellow union members.
Unit meetings are held throughout both states, with 11 units meetings in locations from Dover and Keene to Portland, Augusta, Bangor and Presque Isle. All IBEW Local 1837 members are welcome to attend any unit meeting, not just the meeting for their own unit.
Meetings provide members with an opportunity to hear updates from the Local, ask questions and discuss issues affecting their jobs and their union. Members are encouraged to attend and take an active role in their union.
Several units have schedule notes this fall. Lewiston (Unit 7) meetings resume in October. Waterville (Unit 9) resumed in September but will not meet in October due to a scheduling conflict. Presque Isle returns to in-person meetings in October after meeting by Zoom in September. Portland will not hold a November meeting due to Election Day.
Meeting schedules and locations can occasionally change due to holidays, weather or other circumstances, and some meetings may be held by Zoom. Members should check with their steward, contact the union office or visit the Local 1837 website before heading to a meeting.
