Members of IBEW Local 1837 are employed at two New Hampshire locations of Unitil Energy Systems (UES): the “Capital” division in Concord and the “Seacoast” division in Kensington. UES is a subsidiary of Unitil Corporation, a public utility holding company with electric distribution operations in New Hampshire and North Central Massachusetts.

In New Hampshire, IBEW Local 1837 represents line workers, meter mechanics, system operators, and support personnel who help deliver safe and reliable electricity to approximately 71,100 customers throughout the Merrimack River Valley and Seacoast regions. These skilled members maintain and upgrade distribution infrastructure, respond to outages, and support daily system operations that keep homes and businesses powered.

UES also owns a facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, providing electric and natural gas services to more than 42,000 customers in that state. Union employees at the Fitchburg location are represented by the Utility Workers Union of America.

IBEW Local 1837 members at UES belong to Units 1 and 2 and hold voting rights within those units. They have also established sub-unit meetings, held in Exeter and Concord, to address company-specific matters and ensure strong communication and representation within the local union structure.
