Nominations for Local 1837 Officers in August

UPDATE: Unit 5, Keene and Unit 2, Manchester have been postponed due to a large number of union members working out of state doing restoration work. Unit 5, Keene will be held on August 24 and Unit 2,  Manchester Area meeting will be held on August 18. Unit 6, Portland, Unit 7, Lewiston and Unit 9, Waterville have been cancelled. Nominations still can be made by email, U.S. mail, or at any other Unit Meeting.

July 28, 2020 -  Nominations for the offices of IBEW Local Union #1837 may be made orally at the regular monthly Unit Meetings during August 2020:  President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Business Manager, One (1) Executive Board Member from each Unit of Local 1837. A meeting schedule is below. Please note that since some buildings are closed for meetings due to COVID-19, August unit meetings may take place outside the buildings indicated in a nearby parking lot or adjacent area.

In addition, members may send nominations or self-nominate via U.S. Mail or email. (Click here to download optional nomination form.) Be sure to include your member number from your union membership card. Send your nominations by U.S. Mail to IBEW Local Union #1837, 16 Old Winthrop Road, Manchester, ME 04351 or email: union@ibew1837.org.

No member shall be nominated for office unless he/she is present or signifies his/her willingness in writing.  Members who self-nominate must indicate their willingness to serve. Members of one unit may nominate members of another unit. A nominee must have been a member in good standing of Local 1837 for two years and the Unit Recorder shall forward a list of candidates, signed by him/herself and the Unit Chair to the Local Union Recording Secretary. All nominations must be submitted by 8/28/20.
