AFL-CIO Bus Tour Coming to Maine

The National AFL-CIO’s Bus Tour for Freedom, Fairness and Security is making its way across the country and will stop in Maine next week as part of the run-up to Labor Day. These events are an opportunity to hear directly from workers about the challenges they face and the importance of collective action. Both events are free and open to all who support labor and workers. Registration is requested.

Two stops are scheduled:

  • Tuesday, August 26 -- Brewer
  • 11:00 a.m. news conference followed by lunch
  • Solidarity Center, 20 Ivers Street
  • Register for Brewer
  • Wednesday, August 27 -- Jay
  • 5:00 p.m. speakers and rally followed by a training: “Power with Purpose: Safety, Security and De-escalation for Picket Lines & Collective Action”
  • WMLC Local 14 Solidarity Center, 6 Intervale Road
  • Register for Jay
