Postal Pickets to preserve timely mail delivery
February 23, 2024 -- This Saturday, February 24th, Postal Workers (APWU) and community members will be holding informational pickets in five communities in the Bangor area. This solidarity action is in response to a USPS proposal that would delay mail deliveries for USPS customers in Northern and Central Maine. INFORMATIONAL PICKETS ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24:
- Orono Post Office 1 Bennoch Rd. Orono Maine, 9 am to 10 am
- Old Town Center St. in front of Post Office 10:30 am to 11:30 am
- Brewer across from the Post Office on the sidewalk. We will park in the Hannaford mall parking lot 12 noon to 1 pm
- Hampden in front of the Post Office (114 Western ave, Hampden) not at the Plant 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
- Federal Building Bangor (202 Harlow Street) 3 pm to 4 pm - 4 pm then walk to West Market Square and end it there between 4 pm - 5 pm
- West Market Square is pending event permit approval from Bangor City
A Town Hall meeting will also be held in Brewer in Thursday, February 29th at 4p.m. at Jeff’s Event Center, 15 Event Center Way, Brewer, ME 04412. Those who can't attend can make their voices heard by submitting written public comments on the proposal here.
